Cliche-watch: Every once in a while I realize I’m thoroughly tired of a phrase. That moment has come with “If so-and-so has his way”. The phrase has become an all-purpose segue in articles, with the author setting up a straw man, like “Gravity is really pissing people off, but if Sam Sham has his way gravity inverters will change all of that”. That sort of thing.
Well, the phrase has reached epidemic proportions and I want it to stop. Just say what you mean and spare me the false drama of the “has his way” cliche.
