Magazine Covers from the Future

In an attempt to demonstrate its relevance, the Magazine Publishers of America has put together a gallery of future magazine covers from publications like BusinessWeek, Fortune, Scientific American, Sports Illustrated, and so on.

What is most interesting, at least to me, is how the business and technology covers almost certainly over-estimate the amount of change, while the sports, culture, & entertainment covers are underestimating. Put differently, while people aren’t going to be buying and selling planets on eBay (as one cover suggests) in the next few hundred years, it won’t be as long as the faux People cover suggests until we have a TV series “peopled” by robots.
