He’s Ba-ack: The Return of Stewart Alsop

Pundit turned venture guy Stewart Alsop is apparently back. Having left NEA a while back after apparently not learning to be enough of an asshole to be a good VC, Dan Primack of PE Week Wire says Also has launched a new fund called Agenda Capital.
While I have gently teased Alsop here now and then, it is arguably true that he simply turned out to be ahead of his time. Looking back at most of his investments with NEA he was tirelessly consumer-centric, from Tivo to Zino, something that won him brickbats in the cynical post dot-com decline. I’d say it now looks more like his focus was right, if perhaps a little early.

If so, it was wrong. Absolutely wrong.
