Popular Science has put together a sure-to-be-controversial list of the U.S.’s top “technopolis” cities, the best cities for technology from a citizen’s standpoint. Criteria included everything from wireless access to robotic surgery at local hospitals, and the results were as follows:
Minneapolis/St. Paul | MN | 100
Atlanta | GA | 98
Washington | DC | 96
Boston/Cambridge | MA | 95
San Diego | CA | 93
Chicago | IL | 92
Columbus | OH | 90
Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill | NC | 87
Seattle/Bellevue/Everett | WA | 87
Houston | TX | 86
Where, you’re wondering, was San Jose and/or San Francisco? Eleventh and 17th, respectively. Breaking it down by types of technology, San Diego was tops in medical; San Jose was number one in tech jobs; and Seattle was most connected.
