Mo’Blogging Gets Mo’Money

According to Venturewire, WaveMarket is in the death throes of closing a $1-$3-million financing round with DFJ. The company has three products: Crunkie, a location-based mobile blogging service; Map.Me, a mobile phone map interface that lets users pan and zoom their cellphone screen onto the map; and WaveAlert, a server system that notifies cellphone users when they enter or leave a particular area.
I have to confess to having used none of these services — and in a quick scan of Crunkie let’s just say I’m not blown away — but I am at least entertained that mobile blogging is the aspect of this location-based startup that is being profiled in Venturewire. Who woulda thought?
