2004′s Weather has Been Moved Due to Flooding

The American Meteorological Society is having its 85th annual meeting in San Diego this week. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, if you’re a meteorologist) the area is having what is euphemistically called “active” weather. Ironically enough, such conditions have consequences, however, even for meteorologists, according to a conference missive today:

IMPACT: Weather 2004 has moved from Room 9 to Room 5A due to flooding and starts at 8 A.M. not 8:30 A.M..

It reminds me of that great quote from Chinatown: “In the middle of a drought and the water commissioner drowns! Only in LA.”
