New Comment-Spam URLs Mutating
With MT Blacklist doing its usual yeoman work keeping my comments clear of spam, it is interesting what sort of stuff does make it through. Here is a sample of four URLs contained in spam messages missed by MT Blacklist in a recent sweep:
party-bingo-player.com
x-craps.com
smoking.com
phantomcloaking.com
tools-onlinestore.com
The first two are gambling-related, continuing an incredible surge in the number of such spam comments in the last year (I think gambling spam is now ahead of sex spam, remarkably enough). Interestingly, there are three others in domains I have never seen before: smoking spam, search cloaking spam, and tools spam.
Fascinating what sneaks through the cracks when you close the door and board the windows.
