Yahoo: Google? Never Heard of It
One more from the Yahoo call last night: You would think with Google having gone public during the quarter analysts and Google management would have had a lot to say about said search/advertising company. It is, after all, a Yahoo competitor, and one that threatens to usurp some of Yahoo's lucrative business lines.
Well, you would be wrong. Other than crowing about the money they made day-trading Google stock, Yahoo management made no mention of that other search company. And more interesting yet, there wasn't a single analyst question on Google. Puzzling, at least to me.
