Those Who Can, Do, etc.
It is an old saying in the consulting business, but those who can do, and those who can't teach -- and those who can't teach consult. That point is nicely driven home in this LA Times piece about the authors of screenwriting guides. Most of the so-called experts have near-zip screen credits to their name:
"The Complete Idiot's Guide to Screenwriting"; (Alpha Books, July 2004)
Author: Skip Press, author, screenwriter, online writing instructor, former editor of Entertainment Monthly.
Credits: The 1987 instructional video "A Woman's Guide to Firearms."
